Many AltNets are already starting to consider penetration with the cost per connected home, (to date has been framed mainly as an engineering "input") starting to reflect a cost of acquisition (which includes associated marketing and promotional costs). Operators that can add connections cheaply will be rewarded with better organic growth, higher margins and eventually higher valuations.
